My PhD was in the field of technology enhanced learning, with a particular focus on accessibility and the pedagogical methodologies aiming to develop new models for learning and teaching in an adaptable learning environment.
My PhD thesis entitled ‘A Transformation, Augmentation and Substitution Model that Supports the Adaptation of Learning Objects’ encompassed a number of different areas ranging from Human Computer Interaction, to adaptability, user diversity, profiling for accessibility and personalisation.
It explored new educational approaches to provide truly accessible, personalised and flexible learning resources and focuses on the design of adaptable and pedagogically rich, learner-centered learning objects that capture the needs of diverse groups of students.
